Hothouse Flowers apologise for not attending the St Patricks Eve Hooley (March 16th) as advertised. The band never confirmed this show and will not be on the bill as advertised, but are looking to come back to Kelly's Hotel, Portrush, Co. Antrim at a later date which is being discussed with the management

Presented by Fiachna Ó Braonáin (Hothouse Flowers), AN CÓR features the experiences of six choirs as they immerse themselves in the culture, language and history of traditional Irish songs such as "Báidín Fhelimí", "Óró, Sé do Bheatha 'Bhaile", "An Poc ar Buile", "Bean Pháidín" and "Beidh Aonach Amárach". In each of the first three shows, two choirs compete against each other. Each choir must rehearse the song, learn and understand the words and get the pronunciation right before the judges select one to go forward to the final. While they're rehearsing, Fiachna travels the country to learn the back story of the songs themselves and mentors the choirs as they attempt to impress the judging panel with their final polished version. The three successful choirs from the heats compete in the final show, when one choir is crowned the winner.

Hi Everyone, we would like to let you know about the upcoming release of Goodnight Sun, which was recorded live at the Kansas City Irish Festival 2009. It will be available initially during our U.S. Tour and to everyone else soon afterwards.

We were onstage in Missouri. Kansas City Missouri . We were in the embrace of a great night and the sun was setting too my right. 'Good night sun' I said. 'be back before dawn '! Well you know, Fiachna was the first to hear the recording that Stephen Ceresia and Phoebie made of that great embrace of music that we were blessed to be a part of . We decided it was worth putting out there to be heard . Every single bit of this earth is beautiful at sunset . Sunrise in our hearts. Shine on rock and rollers'! :-) Liam

Sitting on a rumbling metro somewhere underneath Barbes Rochechouart north of Montmartre in the wonderful city of Paris I plugged my headphones deep into my ears to drown out the surrounding clatter, pressed play on a recording of the band onstage in Kansas City that I had just been sent by our friend Stephen Ceresia to find the sound of four guys playing together, singing together, sending waves of music into a glowing sunset, having a laugh and rocking and rolling! My senses were immediately grabbed as I sat bolt upright careful not to be the guy on the train that sings out too loud from under the headphones! Its not often you hear a recording of yourself that makes you smile with excitement straight away.. all too often the details seem too big than the picture but here the gods of recording were on our side! Straight away I texted Liam telling him he had to hear this! We both agreed not to just keep it to ourselves so we've put it out as a live album.. Goodnight Sun!" Fiachna

PRESS RELEASE: 'To Be Touched' is the stunning new solo album from Liam Ó Maonlaí. It is a deep, rich, soulful collection of new piano-accompanied compositions. Recorded in Prague last July with the companionship and help of Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova, and funded by concerts the three of them performed there, 'To Be Touched' features Marketa on guest vocals along with the steady hand of Martin Brunsden on double bass.
Liam went into the studio with just three of the songs already written, the rest were born in the studio environment and continue to grow on this album.
